Golden Period in France

Its temperate sunny climate & natural beauty benefitted Marcil’s health and morale. Still, he often felt the need to spend long stays in the city which he found more conducive to his socially textured art.
Those years were golden in that everything came together for Marcil. Using his superb draftsmanship, mastery of color, psychological insight and life experience, he expresses his unflinching analysis of human behaviour, centering on emotional detail and relationships in a social context.
In the early eighties, Marcil moved to the picturesque medieval village of Tourrettes-sur-Loup known as the world capital of the violet.
